Contains six out of the original eight volumes: The Golden Age by Thomas Bulfinch, The Celtic Race by T.W. Rolleston, Hindus and Buddhists by Sister Nivedita, Japan by F. Hadland Davis, The British Race by M.I. Ebbutt, and North American Indians by Lewis Spence. Missing Ancient Egypt and Mexico & Peru by Lewis Spence.
Near fine. Green cloth boards with gilt stamped accents on spines, gilt top edges, deckled bottom and fore-edges. All pages are clean and unmarked aside from minor foxing to two volumes. Many full-page colored plates throughout each volume. Bindings firm and square aside from back hinges of Japan and Celtic cracked and front hinge of Golden Age starting. Small white stain to front board of British Race, else very minor shelf wear to boards. Moderate rubbing to spines and scuffing to spine ends.
