Antverpiae: Typographia Plantiniana (Plantin Press), 1727. "Roman Breviary From the Decree of the Sacred Council of Trent" Pars Verna. The liturgical book of the Latin liturgical rites of the Catholic Church containing the public or canonical prayers, hymns, the Psalms, readings, and notations for everyday use, especially by bishops, priests, and deacons in the Divine Office.
Book: Good. Dust jacket: None. Fully bound in dark leather with all three page edges gilt and bright marbled endpapers. Internally clean aside from previous owner's ex libris stamp on front pastedown and some notes beautifully written opposite title page. Pages are tanned throughout with slight foxing. Minor damage to boards where fore-edge clasps have been removed. Heavy chipping to spine and board corners. Binding still secure throughout, although the front hinge is cracked and loose. Overall, a handsome copy.
