Kaneda & Co / Japan Print Institute, no date given. The complete series of 55 woodblock prints first published in 1833.
Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) created these prints after his first travel along the Tokaido, the main road between Edo and Kyoto. Starting from a fishmarket in Edo and ending with the bridge of Kyoto, he made a number of sketches along the way that depict everyday lives of the people of Japan and the four seasons. This series of woodblock prints made Hiroshige and his work well-known throughout the country. This reprint edition circa 1950 has all 55 woodblock prints in accordion book format.
